Feishu Public Welfare Program Cases: Collaboration in Research, Education and Charity

Beyond the corporate world, Feishu has quietly taken root in certain warm-hearted corners.

According to Feishu's source article, the Public Welfare Program had provided about 110,000 licences to roughly 1,500 organisations since March 2023 across education, disability support, medical aid, emergency relief, environmental protection and university research. The figures and programme scope should be verified against current official information.

Today, let’s share a few small stories about education.

In this era reshaped by AI, education stands at an unprecedented crossroads. When AI can write essays and solve math problems, what kind of talent should we cultivate? And how can technology guide education toward healthy development? Perhaps the answers lie within those educators actively embracing change.

Tsinghua Research Group:

Structured Collaboration Empowers Efficient Research

Prior to the summer of 2023, the Millimeter-Wave Research Group at Tsinghua University’s School of Integrated Circuits followed traditional workflows: using PowerPoint for group meetings, storing files scattered across personal computers in Word and PDF formats, and relying on WeChat groups for technical discussions. While each individual tool sufficed, they lacked cross-platform integration. “Group meetings lasted two to three hours every week—discussions were lively, but threads often broke afterward, and summarizing notes was burdensome. Information retrieval was difficult, and new members struggled to inherit prior knowledge,” recalled Ph.D. student Jiang Ruiyang.

The transformation began with a senior student’s self-initiated effort to “save himself.” In 2022, a soon-to-graduate doctoral student started migrating materials to Feishu. Now supported by the Feishu Public Welfare Program, this team of over thirty researchers has fully transitioned to Feishu collaboration. Meeting documents span tens of thousands of words yet remain structured, collapsible, and searchable. Each member’s progress, questions, and plans are visible online. “We leave comments at the end of documents: ‘Professor Jia, please address these comments.’ Unfinished tasks keep reminding us, creating a sort of mandatory management mechanism,” said Jiang Ruiyang with a smile.

In the research team's account, consolidating documents reduced fragmentation and supported what it called “knowledge democratization”: experience was preserved for newcomers and cross-disciplinary members to consult. This is the team's reported experience, not a guaranteed result for every research group.

For Jiang Ruiyang, Feishu’s greatest value lies in boosting efficiency. “Modern research means tackling challenges under extreme constraints of time and resources—efficiency determines output and success. With AI integrated into collaboration, knowledge is better transmitted. For graduate and doctoral students, any tool that improves efficiency effectively extends our academic careers.”

Shanghai TrueLove Dream Foundation:

In the Age of AI, the Problems Education Must Solve Have Changed

Founded in 2008, TrueLove Dream first gained recognition through disaster relief efforts after the Wenchuan earthquake. But they quickly realized material aid alone couldn’t fundamentally alter the fate of children in remote regions. “Many kids attend school, yet their career prospects remain limited. What they lack isn’t textbooks—it’s the ability to adapt to future society,” said a representative.

Thus, they began opening windows beyond traditional classrooms. For example, their “Go Far Away” course allows students to plan a journey in teams with a budget of 18,000 yuan. “When everyone carries a PhD-level AI in their pocket, education’s focus shifts from finding answers to asking good questions. Teachers are the key figures who push open these windows,” the representative explained.

TrueLove Dream conducts large-scale teacher training, especially during summer when thousands of college student volunteers and retired teachers are mobilized to conduct intensive training across counties. Using Feishu Multidimensional Tables, they’ve built a complete workflow ensuring orderly execution—from project initiation, knowledge documentation, and school management to session scheduling, personnel matching, implementation tracking, and post-completion feedback—all integrated into a single table.

According to TrueLove Dream, it uses Feishu Multidimensional Tables and AI-powered fields to assist the preliminary review of partner submissions, including prompts about typos and fluency. The available checks, accuracy and human-review process should be verified against the current product. A representative compared the tool to an intern helping with first-pass screening and said it reduced some process and paperwork effort.

Despite ongoing challenges, TrueLove Dream continues building smarter systems. “It enables us to do more—and better—with limited resources.”

BlueEnvelope:

Turning Every Dollar Into Children’s “Visible Growth”

The source article says BlueEnvelope has spent 17 years connecting urban volunteers and rural children through letters. This revision does not retain the unsupported description of it as China's largest organisation in the field. The organisation described its challenge as delivering each contribution accurately.

According to the article and its finance lead, volunteer registration previously relied on Excel, funding sources required separate accounting, around 60% of funding came from monthly volunteer donations, and staff maintained more than twenty sheets. These percentages and workload figures are case-study claims that should be checked against the organisation's accounts and current workflow.

This “chaos” eventually translated into children’s “delays”—delayed letters, undelivered supplies, misassigned volunteers… BlueEnvelope wanted “every reply letter answered, every dollar spent directly on children,” but without proper tools, ideals remained ungrounded.

BlueEnvelope says it introduced Feishu in October 2022 and built a workflow linking expenses with project progress, including a funding-pool dashboard. Its finance lead reported that filters made funding source, use and balance easier to view. Whether the workflow reduces errors or improves traceability should be tested through reconciliation records, permissions and audit procedures.

The finance lead also described assigning different permissions to finance, project and donor users and said a company could view only records tied to its donation. This is the organisation's account; actual visibility and security should be verified in the current tenant through role, sharing and access tests.

Final Thoughts

Zooming out, we realize the integration of AI and education goes far beyond technological innovation—it’s a profound reflection on the essence of education itself. Education is not about manufacturing standardized products, but about unlocking each individual’s unique potential; it’s not merely transmitting established knowledge, but cultivating abilities for the future.

These cases show how a collaboration platform may support document organisation, workflow management and permissioned access, while outcomes still depend on data quality, configuration, human review and adoption. For the Feishu Public Welfare Program, consult the official information and confirm current eligibility, seat limits, features and data-handling terms.
