Beyond the corporate world, Feishu has quietly taken root in certain warm-hearted corners.
Since launching the "Feishu Public Welfare Program" in March 2023, we have donated to approximately 1,500 organizations, providing around 110,000 licenses covering key areas such as children's education, disability support, medical assistance, emergency relief, environmental protection, and scientific research at higher education institutions.
Today, let’s share a few small stories about education.
In this era reshaped by AI, education stands at an unprecedented crossroads. When AI can write essays and solve math problems, what kind of talent should we cultivate? And how can technology guide education toward healthy development? Perhaps the answers lie within those educators actively embracing change.
Tsinghua Research Group:
Structured Collaboration Empowers Efficient Research
Prior to the summer of 2023, the Millimeter-Wave Research Group at Tsinghua University’s School of Integrated Circuits followed traditional workflows: using PowerPoint for group meetings, storing files scattered across personal computers in Word and PDF formats, and relying on WeChat groups for technical discussions. While each individual tool sufficed, they lacked cross-platform integration. “Group meetings lasted two to three hours every week—discussions were lively, but threads often broke afterward, and summarizing notes was burdensome. Information retrieval was difficult, and new members struggled to inherit prior knowledge,” recalled Ph.D. student Jiang Ruiyang.
The transformation began with a senior student’s self-initiated effort to “save himself.” In 2022, a soon-to-graduate doctoral student started migrating materials to Feishu. Now supported by the Feishu Public Welfare Program, this team of over thirty researchers has fully transitioned to Feishu collaboration. Meeting documents span tens of thousands of words yet remain structured, collapsible, and searchable. Each member’s progress, questions, and plans are visible online. “We leave comments at the end of documents: ‘Professor Jia, please address these comments.’ Unfinished tasks keep reminding us, creating a sort of mandatory management mechanism,” said Jiang Ruiyang with a smile.
Feishu not only solved the problem of fragmented information but also achieved “knowledge democratization.” Previously, senior students were reluctant to document their work, thinking, “Even if I write it down, no one will read it.” Now, all experiences are preserved, enabling newcomers to learn independently and allowing cross-disciplinary members to draw inspiration from one another.
For Jiang Ruiyang, Feishu’s greatest value lies in boosting efficiency. “Modern research means tackling challenges under extreme constraints of time and resources—efficiency determines output and success. With AI integrated into collaboration, knowledge is better transmitted. For graduate and doctoral students, any tool that improves efficiency effectively extends our academic careers.”
Shanghai TrueLove Dream Foundation:
In the Age of AI, the Problems Education Must Solve Have Changed
Founded in 2008, TrueLove Dream first gained recognition through disaster relief efforts after the Wenchuan earthquake. But they quickly realized material aid alone couldn’t fundamentally alter the fate of children in remote regions. “Many kids attend school, yet their career prospects remain limited. What they lack isn’t textbooks—it’s the ability to adapt to future society,” said a representative.
Thus, they began opening windows beyond traditional classrooms. For example, their “Go Far Away” course allows students to plan a journey in teams with a budget of 18,000 yuan. “When everyone carries a PhD-level AI in their pocket, education’s focus shifts from finding answers to asking good questions. Teachers are the key figures who push open these windows,” the representative explained.
TrueLove Dream conducts large-scale teacher training, especially during summer when thousands of college student volunteers and retired teachers are mobilized to conduct intensive training across counties. Using Feishu Multidimensional Tables, they’ve built a complete workflow ensuring orderly execution—from project initiation, knowledge documentation, and school management to session scheduling, personnel matching, implementation tracking, and post-completion feedback—all integrated into a single table.
By combining Feishu Multidimensional Tables with AI-powered fields, they’ve also developed an “intelligent manuscript review system” to automatically evaluate partner submissions. The AI detects typos, sentence fluency, factual errors, and even assesses content engagement. “It’s like hiring a tireless intern to help us with preliminary screening,” the representative joked. AI reduces teachers’ procedural and administrative burdens, allowing them to focus more on guiding children’s thinking and helping them see a broader world.
Despite ongoing challenges, TrueLove Dream continues building smarter systems. “It enables us to do more—and better—with limited resources.”
BlueEnvelope:
Turning Every Dollar Into Children’s “Visible Growth”
As China’s largest public welfare organization dedicated to psychological companionship for rural children, BlueEnvelope has persisted for 17 years, connecting urban volunteers with rural children through letter exchanges. Their biggest challenge wasn’t “no one writing letters,” but rather “how to precisely deliver every bit of warmth.”
Prior to 2021, volunteer registration relied on Excel spreadsheets, and financial management was even more complex. Sixty percent of BlueEnvelope’s funding comes from monthly volunteer donations, with the rest from corporate and government contributions, requiring separate accounting. In the past, finance staff maintained over twenty Excel sheets. “Back then, I had to mentally track dozens of transactions every day,” said finance lead Jiao Ge.
This “chaos” eventually translated into children’s “delays”—delayed letters, undelivered supplies, misassigned volunteers… BlueEnvelope wanted “every reply letter answered, every dollar spent directly on children,” but without proper tools, ideals remained ungrounded.
In October 2022, BlueEnvelope introduced Feishu, primarily to solve the “financial management” challenge. Leveraging Feishu and AI, they built an integrated “business-finance” system linking every expense directly to project progress. Today, when Jiao Ge opens Feishu, a “Funding Pool Dashboard” clearly displays the flow of every dollar. “Before, I had to check multiple Excel files. Now, with just a few filters, I can instantly see which donor’s money it is, where it’s been used, and what balance remains—everything is transparent.” AI makes charitable funds transparent and traceable, ensuring every act of kindness reaches its intended destination accurately.
What relieves Jiao Ge most is the “permission control” feature. In the past, all spreadsheets were fully visible to everyone, leading to frequent errors. Now, he sets different access levels for finance, project, and donor teams: finance staff can modify amounts, project teams only input progress, and donors can only view records related to their own contributions. “Once, a company wanted to check fund usage. After I shared a link, they could only see data tied to their donation—transparent yet secure.”
Final Thoughts
Zooming out, we realize the integration of AI and education goes far beyond technological innovation—it’s a profound reflection on the essence of education itself. Education is not about manufacturing standardized products, but about unlocking each individual’s unique potential; it’s not merely transmitting established knowledge, but cultivating abilities for the future.
In this process, collaborative platforms like Feishu play a pivotal role—not just as tools, but as bridges connecting ideas with practice, individuals with communities, and the present with the future. We hope more public welfare and educational organizations will deeply adopt Feishu. If you’re interested in the Feishu Public Welfare Program, click here for details.
