Nippon Paint China Partners with Feishu: AI-Powered Efficiency and Organizational Collaboration

“As the AI wave surges forward, Nippon Paint has decided to partner with Feishu to usher in a new chapter of digital transformation.”

Recently, Nippon Paint China and Feishu held a launch ceremony and partnership signing event in Shanghai.

In attendance were Sun Ronglong, Chief Operating Officer of Nippon Paint China; Yin Xiangzhe, Senior Vice President of Human Resources; Xing Huarong, Deputy Chairman of Nippon Paint Investment Co., Ltd. and Senior Vice President of the Supply Chain Management Headquarters; Tang Ruoling, Vice President of the Finance and Risk Management Headquarters; Xu Changwei, Head of the AI Innovation Delivery Center; Zhang Di, Vice President of Commercialization at Feishu; Fan Jun, National Head of Customer Success for Feishu’s Manufacturing Industry; along with core team members from both sides. Zhong Zhonglin, CEO of Nippon Paint China, delivered an opening address via video.

“As the AI wave sweeps in, Nippon Paint has chosen to proactively embrace change. Today, we stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Feishu to officially open a new chapter in digital transformation,” stated Zhong Zhonglin, CEO of Nippon Paint China, in his video address. He added that, in response to the transformations brought about by AI, Nippon Paint aims to further enhance operational efficiency and organizational collaboration, deliver superior service to customers, and—through dual drivers of technology and organizational evolution—truly embed innovative work modes into the team’s daily operations.

This transformation is rooted in Nippon Paint’s over three decades of business accumulation in China. Since entering the mainland market in 1992, Nippon Paint’s business scope has covered decorative coatings, engineering coatings, automotive coatings, marine coatings, and industrial coatings, extending further into building materials and renovation services. As its business footprint continues to expand, enabling smoother collaboration among personnel across different business units and roles has become an essential challenge the organization must address on its path toward the future.

“Launching Feishu is not merely swapping out one tool for another—it represents an adjustment to our collaboration model, management approach, and work habits. Goals must be clearer, processes more transparent, and responsibilities and outcomes fully traceable.” Speaking about the changes brought by Feishu’s introduction, Sun Ronglong emphasized that only when these changes truly take place can Feishu be meaningfully integrated into daily work—helping teams break down information silos across departments and systematically capture accumulated expertise scattered throughout business processes.

Equally critical is how managers adopt and apply new tools once they enter the organization. Yin Xiangzhe, Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Nippon Paint China, noted that AI is reshaping work patterns while simultaneously redefining human value. Managers must first become “enablers” of change—leading by example in adopting new tools and guiding their teams step-by-step to explore new pathways within actual workflows.

Going beyond organizational collaboration, the deeper objective lies in tightly integrating AI with core business processes. Xu Changwei, Head of the AI Innovation Delivery Center at Nippon Paint China, introduced that Feishu and Doubao Work will serve as Nippon Paint’s unified execution gateway—connecting people, agents, and business systems through optimized workflows. Subsequent collaboration between the two parties will delve into concrete scenarios such as consumer engagement, customer operation support, and organizational upgrading. Methods developed through practical implementation will be codified into sustainable, reusable capabilities.

Fan Jun, National Head of Customer Success for Feishu’s Manufacturing Industry, stated that Feishu will accompany Nippon Paint on its journey—from initial adoption (“using it”) to proficient and deep utilization (“using it well, using it deeply”). Leveraging AI, Feishu will help Nippon Paint more rapidly gather and distill frontline insights from distributors and customers, continuously optimize business processes and job-specific work methods, and promote jointly created digital outcomes across the broader industry and upstream-downstream partners.
