Nanjing Iron & Steel Announces Feishu Rollout for Frontline AI Use

"We look forward to working with Feishu to advance AI in the steel industry from 'functional' to 'user-friendly,' and from pilot projects to systematic implementation, jointly exploring replicable paths toward universal AI adoption."

Nangang Embraces Feishu to Pioneer the Path Toward AI Equality

According to the event account, the Nangang 2026 Artificial Intelligence Digital Forum was held in Nanjing, where Nangang Group announced its Feishu rollout and the organisers presented awards for the "Nangang·Feishu AI Efficiency Pioneer Competition." The account lists attendees including Li Yiren of the China Iron and Steel Association, Nangang President Zhu Ruirong, Nangang Digital Application Research Institute Dean Ru Jintong and Feishu Commercial Vice President Zhang Di.

Zhu Ruirong, President of Nangang Co., Ltd., stated: "This year, Nangang has deepened collaboration with Feishu, continuously breaking down data and collaboration barriers in areas such as collaborative office operations, knowledge management, and business analytics. This enables AI not only to empower machinery but also to benefit every manager and frontline employee, marking our initial exploration and practice of AI equality. We aim to work with Feishu to push the steel industry’s AI from 'usable' to 'easy-to-use' and from pilot trials to systemic deployment, jointly uncovering replicable pathways for universal AI adoption."

Zhang Di, Commercial Vice President of Feishu, said: "The essence of AI equality lies in enabling frontline personnel to easily master AI tools, allowing those deeply immersed in operations to independently harness AI capabilities. Nangang illustrates this idea in practice: the two sides report deploying AI capabilities into specific business scenarios on production lines, with staff building intelligent applications themselves. A CEO evaluating a similar rollout should ask how quickly a vendor can point to working use cases in the buyer's own environment."

Nangang: A Pioneer in Smart Steel Manufacturing

Founded in 1958, Nangang is a key backbone steel enterprise established during China's Second Five-Year Plan period and is known as the "cradle of Jiangsu's iron and steel industry." The company says it is among the first batch of national "Digital Navigation" enterprises; buyers may request the designation records. Over the years, Nangang has dedicated itself to overcoming critical technological bottlenecks, supplying essential specialty steel materials for major national projects. It has established a GRT+C2M smart factory and positions itself as a pioneer in smart steel manufacturing; buyers should ask the company for documentation supporting this status.

Nangang says it operates at substantial crude-steel and revenue scale and has received industry competitiveness and product designations; specific production, revenue, ranking and designation claims should be checked against annual reports and the issuing bodies. The company also says that it began pursuing a "digitalizing all operations and operationalizing all digital activities" strategy and a "one brain, three centers" architecture in 2015; implementation should be assessed from verifiable project records.

Using Feishu as the Foundation to Shape a New Paradigm of the 'AI Organization'

In this collaboration, Nangang adopts Feishu as its unified digital foundation to accelerate its evolution into an intelligent "AI organization." Drawing on its digital innovation experience and its independently developed "Yuan Ye" large steel model, Nangang partners with Feishu to co-create a full-chain "excellence operations system." With Feishu’s integrated collaboration and AI capabilities, the company reports that strategic goals are communicated to frontline teams, supporting cross-departmental coordination and technological innovation on a unified platform. More importantly, Nangang is transforming the concept of "AI equality—everyone as an AI user"—into practical, accessible tools for frontline employees. Combining its digital foundation with Feishu’s connectivity and intelligent technologies, Nangang is now testing whether this approach delivers measurable gains in organizational efficiency.

Pioneer Competition Ignites Company-Wide Innovation

According to the event account, the AI Efficiency Pioneer Competition drew employee participation, collected business-use cases and included AI application training. The company says that some projects advanced to the finals across process optimisation, equipment maintenance, quality control, safety inspection and administrative workflows; participation and training counts require organiser records.

The event account describes two use cases: the ironmaking team says it built a blast-furnace expert calculation model on Feishu Miaoda, while the energy and power unit says it built a digital dual-prevention system. It presents both as attempts to bring specialist calculations, safety inspection and follow-up workflows closer to frontline teams. Calculation time, risk-point coverage, hazard-summary speed and closure rates are company case data and should be independently tested against the buyer's baseline, permissions and audit records.

Co-Creating the Future Blueprint for AI in the Steel Industry

According to the event account, Nangang announced upgraded capabilities and technical results for its "Yuan Ye" steel model, while Feishu co-organised a sub-forum on collaboration in large steel enterprises. The model's functions, accuracy, safety and deployment status require product documentation and pilot evidence.

From "AI-driven innovation" built upon lean management foundations to synchronized advancement in organizational capability and technological iteration, the partnership between Nangang and Feishu extends far beyond a single competition or forum. Going forward, the two parties state that they intend to deepen cooperation in areas such as operational excellence, universal AI adoption, and agile collaboration, with the aim of turning company-wide innovation into replicable, scalable industry benchmarks. Together, they say they aim to chart a practical development path for China’s steel industry to embrace new industrialization and to offer a reference model for building future "AI organizations."

Readers assessing a similar rollout can request a scoped pilot from the vendor to test fit with their own workflows.
